Carla Silva holds a degree in Biological Engineering (UMinho 1996), a Master in Industrial Biotechnology (USP-Brazil 1999) and a PhD in Textile Chemistry (UMinho 2005).
With more than 20 years of experience in applied and industry-oriented research, 10 patents and more than 40 published papers in peer-reviewed journals, she has been responsible for the management and coordination of several national and international R&D projects.
Her research interests cover various topics, ranging from surface engineering, advanced polymers and fibres, biotechnology, nanocoatings, processes optimization, processes sustainability and development of innovative nanomaterials, fibres and polymers.

Georgios Priniotakis

Georgios Priniotakis is an Associate Professor in University of West Attica, School of Engineering, Dept. of Industrial Design and Engineering, Greece. His background is in Technical Textiles with focus on Intelligent Textiles and Sustainable Technology Solutions. For several years was National Representative of Greece to boards and committees in the activities of the European Research Area of embedded systems. He has published numerous scientific papers and he has many participations in International conferences the last 25 years. Reviewer in various Scientific Journals. Participated in a number of Research and Education Projects. Member of various Scientific conference committees and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of annual conference AITAE.

Miguel Velhote Correia

Miguel Velhote Correia (PhD) is Assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Porto, Faculty of Engineering, and a senior research member at INESC Technology and Science, head of the Bioinstrumentation Laboratory of the Centre for Biomedical Engineering Research. His main interests are in Sensors and Electronics, Biomedical Instrumentation, and Image and Signal Processing, with focus in sensing methods, technologies and data fusion for the measurement and analysis of human movement, perception, action and performance.

Vincent Nierstrasz

Vincent Nierstrasz is a professor in Textile Materials Technology at the Swedish School of Textiles at the University of Borås since November 2011.Prof. dr. ir. Nierstrasz was previously appointed at Ghent University in Belgium as senior researcher and Marie Curie fellow. At the University of Twente in The Netherlands he was appointed as assistant professor. He holds a PhD degree from Delft University of Technology, and a MSc degree from Wageningen Agricultural University. His research focuses on in surface modification and surface functionalisation of textile materials for production functional and smart textiles (via e.g. catalysis, biocatalysis, coating, printing, 3D printing, inkjet, valvejet), textile and polymer biotechnology.He was involved in several European (Crosstexnet, FP5, FP6, FP7, Eurostars, H2020, Erasmus+), nationally and industrially funded projects. He is also a foreign member of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (KHMW).

António Braz Costa

Braz Costa was born in Portugal in 1962. He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minho in 1989.
Since January 2000, he works as General Manager at CITEVE – Portuguese Technological Centre for Textile and Clothing Industries. CITEVE is a European reference institute that provides technological support and services to companies acting in the textile and clothing business. Product design and development, prototyping, testing and applied R&D oriented to innovative applications are included in its service portfolio that also includes consultancy, training and fashion intelligence.
Since April 2012, is the CEO at CeNTI – Centre of Nanotechnology and Smart Materials. CeNTI is a research institute specialized in nanotechnology, functional materials, smart materials, printed electronics and additive technologies applied to several sectors, mainly developing solutions for Automotive & Aeronautics, Architecture & Construction and Health, Security & Wellbeing.
At international level, he is
- President of Textranet, the European Network of Textile Research Organizations,
- Vice President of Textile ETP, European Technological Platform for the future of Textiles and Clothing.

Graduated in Textile Engineering by University of Minho, Master in lignocellulosic materials Engineering by Technical University of Lisbon, Specialization in colorimetric science by Lusíada University of Porto.
Technology & Engineering Mananger at CITEVE; Invited Textile Chemical Lecturer at Porto Engineering University, responsible for the subjects of Textiles I and II of the MSc in Chemical Engineering. Teacher of TTS (Textile Technology School) and trainer in technologies textiles (Dyeing & Finishing) in training activities organized by CITEVE and industry oriented.
National delegate of GRICES (Higher Education And Science Ministry International Relations Office), for the program Cost Action 847 “Biotechnology in the Textile Industry”; Technological and Innovation auditor in the area of dyeing, printing and finishing; Focus Group Member of Project Bioemprende to the area of biotextiles; Expert of European Textile Technology Platform - TEG 2 (Functionalisation of textile materials and related processes).
Coordination and participation of several industrial projects (EU and national) – innovation, technological and production consultancy.
