Sobre o evento

The iTechStyle Summit 2018 - 2nd International Conference of Textile and Clothing, organized by CITEVE – Technological Centre for the Textile and Clothing Industry of Portugal in collaboration with Associação Selectiva Moda and scientific coordination of University of Minho - Centre for Textile Science and Technology, is expected to bring together industry innovators, technology providers, researchers, clusters and other actors from the textile and clothing sector from across Europe. An event full of opportunities to explore, learn, share, and of course network.

The iTechStyle Summit aims to provide a platform to globalize the research by installing a dialogue between industries and academic organizations.

Addressed by leading voices from the industry and academy who will give their expert insights on the latest trends, strategies, opportunities and challenges, the conference will embrace the areas of industry 4.0, digitization and dematerialization of textile and clothing prototypes, new advanced fibres and materials, new technical and smart structures, and sustainability and circular economy.

 

LANGUAGE: the conference´s official languages are portuguese and english. There will be translation facilities available for the conference participants.

Clara Pereira holds a PhD in Chemistry since 2011, from the Faculty of Sciences of Porto University (FCUP), Portugal. Currently she is FCT Investigator at the Associate Laboratory REQUIMTE/LAQV, Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at FCUP. Her R&TD areas include the Fabrication of Novel Hybrid Nanomaterials and their Application in Smart and Functional Textiles and Devices for Energy Storage, Protection and Sensing Applications. She is author/coauthor of 40 peer-reviewed papers, 4 book chapters and more than 150 communications in international and national conferences, leading to an h-index of 16. Aiming to boost her research to the market, since 2016 Clara is co-founder of the startup project WEStoreOnTEX, which has been recognized by several entrepreneurship awards such as the Innovation Award of Exame Informática “Os Melhores do Portugal Tecnológico”, ClimateLaunchpad, UPTEC School of Startups and the Best Energy Business at iUP25k 2016. Isabel Cabral is a textile engineering PhD student at University of Minho in Guimarães – Portugal, with the theme Dynamic Light Filters: Smart Materials Applied to Textile Design. Her interests include integration processes of smart and conductive materials in textile substrates; dynamic behaviour of colour and shape changing textiles in interaction with light; functional and expressional possibilities of origami techniques in textiles. She has a MSc in Space, Product and Communication Design, from UPC Barcelona – Spain and an Industrial Design degree from ESAD Caldas da Rainha – Portugal. Previously to her doctoral program, Isabel was a guest researcher at The Swedish School of Textiles, Borås – Sweden. Currently, Isabel has completed 11 written communications and 8 oral communications. Her work has been exhibited in Portugal and internationally, namely in IKEA Museum (2017/18 – Älmhult, Sweden), House of Music (2017 – Porto,

Carla Silva is the Chief Technology Officer of the Center for Nanotechnology and Smart Materials (CENTI), having a deep knowledge and experience in the implementation of nanotechnological and biotechnological processes for the textile, automotive, medical and construction industries. She graduated in Biological Engineering at University of Minho in 1996, and started working as a superior technician at the Portuguese Technological Centre for the Textile Industries (CITEVE), where she had her first close contact with textile research. Later, she attained her Masters in Industrial Biotechnology at S. Paulo University and in 2005 she finished her Ph.D in Textile Chemistry at University of Minho. Since 2007 she has been working as a senior researcher in CENTI (Centre for Nanotechnology and Smart Materials), and is currently the CTO for that Institution. With more than 20 years of experience in applied and industry-oriented research, 6 granted patents and more than 40 published papers in peer reviewed journals, she is responsible for the management and coordination of several national and international R&D projects covering various research topics.

Engineer graduated from the National Graduate School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Clermont-Ferrand (ENSCCF) in polymer chemistry in 2012, Pauline RONJAT worked over a year in Arkema R&D center in Philadelphia, United-States on the synthesis of new materials (block copolymers) for military uniforms of the US Air Force (JSLIST) in the frame of a project funded by the DOD (Department of Defense). She then worked at the Max Mousseron Biomolecules Institute (Montpellier) for the SATT AxLR on MRI visible polymer functionnalization – aimed to be implanted – with a view to their industrialization. She is currently working, since 3 years, at IFTH (the French Textile & Clothing Institute) as a project manager on surface functionnalization projects and she is in charge of the nanospinning plateform. She follows and leads many industrial and collaborative projects like the ANR/DGA funded TEXT-épur-OP project.

Henrique Almeida is an Associate Professor of the Mechanical Engineering Department (Biofabrication, Ergonomics, Anthropometrics, Biomechanic Design, etc.) at the School of Technology and Management of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, External Collaborator of the Manchester Biomanufacturing Centre of the University of Manchester, Founding Member of the “International Society on Biofabrication” and Member of the European Biomechanics Society. Henrique Almeida has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Aveiro, a Master Degree in Engineering Design from Instituto Superior Técnico and an Undergraduate Degree from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria in Mechanical Engineering. Author and co-autor of more than 240 publications as journal papers, book chapters and conference proceeding papers. He also edited 10 books and has 8 Portuguese Patents. Co-Chair and Member of organising committees of 16 international conferences. Member of the Editorial Board and Review Editorial Board of 6 journals: Springer, Emerald, Frontiers and Crimson Publishers. Engaged in 38 research projects funded by national, european and international funds.
