About the event

The iTechStyle Summit 2018 - 2nd International Conference of Textile and Clothing, organized by CITEVE – Technological Centre for the Textile and Clothing Industry of Portugal in collaboration with Associação Selectiva Moda and scientific coordination of University of Minho - Centre for Textile Science and Technology, is expected to bring together industry innovators, technology providers, researchers, clusters and other actors from the textile and clothing sector from across Europe. An event full of opportunities to explore, learn, share, and of course network.

The iTechStyle Summit aims to provide a platform to globalize the research by installing a dialogue between industries and academic organizations.

Addressed by leading voices from the industry and academy who will give their expert insights on the latest trends, strategies, opportunities and challenges, the conference will embrace the areas of industry 4.0, digitization and dematerialization of textile and clothing prototypes, new advanced fibres and materials, new technical and smart structures, and sustainability and circular economy.

 

LANGUAGE: the conference´s official languages are portuguese and english. There will be translation facilities available for the conference participants.

Her goal is to promote innovation and create value out of emergent technologies applying them to improve business performance. Tânia Calçada received a PhD degree from FEUP in 2013 in wireless networks. Previously, she was researcher in telecommunications at FEUP and INESC, was professor in ESTGL, and designed corporate network solutions for Novis.

Director of CITEVE sustainable production department, which includes eco-design and eco-processing, energy efficiency and renewable energy, social responsibility and safety at work, organization management and efficiency. Develops consulting, training and R&D I work, at national and international level, with more than 20 years of experience. Qualified auditor for the certification STeP by OEKO-TEX® (Sustainable Textile Production) and for the DETOX TO ZERO by OEKO-TEX® service. Expert on several sustainability working groups.

Responsible for the technical department and R&D of Coltec-Neves & Companhia Lda, a company that manufactures and commercializes multifunctional laminated fabrics and knitting breathable, waterproof and windproof for household textiles and technical garment Coltec also performs technical bondings for several industries like footwear, mattress, automotive, construction, health, filtration, sports, fashion and others carried out by different lamination and coating technologies using hot-melts, thermoadhesives and selfadhesives, special effects for fashion articles trough thermobonding films and foils applications.

Dr. Amool Raina currently coordinates and heads aerospace group at the Institut für Textiltechnik (ITA) of RWTH Aachen University. His doctoral thesis (highest distinction received) majoring in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Kansas presented solutions for improvement in wind turbine design and manufacturing. He is considered an expert in wind turbine design and engineering and has a work experience of over 6 years in the aerospace and renewable industry prior to joining ITA. He has designed and engineered over 35 wind turbine blades ranging from 2m to 105m in length with over 16,000 blades successfully flying worldwide. Dr. Raina has also been involved in projects relating to design and optimisation of aircraft engines and other components. Dr. Raina is currently developing and promoting textile based solutions for several sectors including aerospace, automotive, traditional textiles as well as digital solutions as per Industry 4.0 norms for the above industries.

Joachim Hensch has a profound and holistic knowledge in garment manufacturing, technology and innovation. Starting as a tailor for several years in bespoke couture, he later moved into the ready to wear business and since then has taken various positions, mainly in the field of product development. In 2015 he took the position of managing director in the biggest factory of HUGO BOSS Group located in İzmir with 3700 employees. His most important target is to transfer the whole organization into a flexible and reactive Smart Factory with implementation of industry 4.0 measures. That is to be prepared for a highly volatile, demanding and impatient market environment. Within this approach he is in the forefront of innovation excellence in garment manufacturing and thus the Izmir Factory is a role model for global industry. He believes in agile, SCRUM based project execution and flat hierarchies to cope with today’s pace of doing business.
